[Jurnal 2023] MANDATORI B35/B40 SEBAGAI KEBIJAKAN MERESPON RESESI EKONOMI GLOBAL

Mandatori B35/B40 merupakan solusi yang dapat dilakukan Indonesia untuk menghadapi melemahnya demand minyak sawit global tahun 2023. Hal tersebut sebagai dampak dari disrupsi permintaan khususnya yang terjadi di negara importir minyak sawit yang disebabkan oleh resesi ekonomi, pulihnya stok minyak sawit, dan kebijakan deforestation-free. Selain mengatasi potensi penurunan harga minyak sawit dunia dan TBS akibat melemahnya demand global, implementasi mandatori B35/B40 juga akan menghasilkan manfaat yang lebih besar dalam penurunan ketergantungan penggunaan solar fosil impor, penghematan devisa solar impor, pembangunan ekonomi, dan penurunan emisi GRK.

“DEFORESTATION FREE” POLICY FOR PALM OIL CAUSE WIDER GLOBAL DEFORESTATION 2023

The European Union (EU), the United States (USA), and the United Kingdom (UK) have formulated a “deforestation-free” policy as part of a trade policy for products and commodities related to deforestation. The ban on palm oil consumption as a result of these policies has led to consumption shifting to other vegetable oils, such as rapeseed oil. The increase in consumption of rapeseed oil leads to greater land expansion, considering that the productivity of the oil is lower than palm oil. This shows that these policies expands global deforestation.
