Tanaman kelapa sawit memiliki predikat sebagai tanaman ajaib. Sebagai anugrah Tuhan yang Maha Esa untuk masyarakat dunia, meksipun perkebunan kelapa sawit dunia yang hanya berkembang di beberapa negara tropis seperti Indonesia dan Malaysia namun dapat memberikan manfaat luas bagi masyarakat dunia.Aplikasi produk yang dihasilkan industri minyak dalam bentuk 6-F (food, feed, phytonutrient, fine chemical, fiber, fuel) yang diperdagangkan secara internasional menjadi bukti manfaat industri sawit dapat dinikmati oleh seluruh masyarakat dunia.Eksistensi industri sawit dalam ekosistem planet bumi tidak hanya sebatas menghasilkan produk 6-F tersebut. Industri minyak sawit secara keseluruhan juga berperan penting dalam menyehatkan kehidupan manusia dalam ekosistem planet bumi. Setidaknya ada tiga mekanisme bagaimana industri sawit menyehatkan kehidupan manusia. Pertama, mekanisme penyehatan dari dalam tubuh melalui pemenuhan nutrisi dan gizi minyak sawit. Kedua, mekanisme penyehatan dari luar tubuh dan ekosistem melalui produk oleokimia/biosurfaktan sawit. Dan ketiga, penyehatan udara bumi melalui peran perkebunan sawit sebagai bagian dari “paru-paru” ekosistem planet bumi.
